The resort of Ayia Napa is on the southern coast of Cyprus, not far from Larnaca airport. It is one of Cyprus"s most popular beach resorts. The main centre of the district is Paralimni, 3 miles north of Ayia Napa itself. East of the village is Protaras, known for its lively nightlife and partyful people. During Ayia Napa’s summer months the temperatures can get very high. In July and early August the temperatures can reach as high as 40ºC (104ºF).
Ayia Napa offers a wide range of food including French, Thai, Mexican, Chinese, Indian - and of course British. There are also plenty of fast food restaurants.
Shopping in Ayia Napa is a pure pleasure, with bargains to be had particularly on designer clothes and other goods. Top name watches, sunglasses, clothing, cameras and jewellery are available at prices up to 30 percent cheaper than in the UK
