Are you looking for cheap holidays to Cyprus? You have come to the right place.
Holidays in Cyprus - what to expect
Cyprus has a great deal packed into such a small space. Situated
in the eastern Mediterranean Cyprus boasts not only good beaches
and holiday resorts, but it is riddled with the relics of ancient
history, from the beehive huts of primitive man to classical Greek
and Roman ruins, and everything imaginable in-between.
Holidays in Cyprus - Information
Cyprus is unique in Europe because it is divided by the "green
line" that bisects the whole island, dividing north from south
when the Turks invaded and took over the north. Most of the tourism
development since then has taken place in the southern sector but
has not dampened the island's appeal as a holiday Mecca.
The charms of Cyprus are many and varied, from the weather, sunny
and dry for most of the year, to the clear, blue sea warmly encapsulating
this island paradise. There is much to explore in Cyprus, the quaint
tavernas and historic ruins make for a nice peaceful afternoon,
to picturesque mountain villages with hoards of monasteries, castles,
and fascinating museums.
The local people are warm and welcoming of tourists and you will
be able to indulge in local island traditions as Cyprus seamlessly
marries European culture with ancient enchantment.
Holidays in Cyprus - Beaches
The best place to soak up the Cyprus sunshine is at the beach,
and with more than four hundred miles of coastline, there are plenty
from which to choose.
For a quiet trip to the beach escape to the remote Akamas Peninsula
on the west coast to Governor"s Beach near Limassol. In the north,
peep at the nesting places of rare turtles on Alagadi Beach and
explore remote hideaways along the Karpas peninsula.
For serious watersports, try Paphos a family friendly beach as
well as the Municipal Beach and the quieter Faros Beach or head
out to Kato Paphos. Go yachting from Kyrenia, and the adventurous
can try parascending around Famagusta.
