Looking for cheap holidays to Nerja? You have come to the right place.
Holidays in Nerja - What to expect
Nerja is a quaint town just 30 miles east of Malaga. Once a small
fishing village, Nerja still retains its quiet tranquil feeling
and despite the building boom on the Costa del Sol, Nerja has a
population of only 12,000.
Nerja is the perfect holiday spot for anybody who wants a holiday
with all the trimmings of the Costa del Sol, but without the crowds.
Holidays in Nerja – Information
Nerja is a little known gem in the south of Spain. It is a picturesque
town with narrow cobbled streets lined with white-washed houses,
leading to beautiful square and plazas with the whole town having
a distinctly Moorish feel. Nerja has a surprising 10 miles of beaches
littered along the rugged coastline with everything ranging from
small private coves, to large playas.
Nerja is most famous for its caves, huge underground caverns which
are just 2 miles outside the town. The caves house ancient paintings,
some dating back as far as 20,000 miles. One of the caves has been
converted into a performance hall which is used by many performers
during the summer.
Holidays in Nerja – Beaches
Nerja has a different style of beach to the rest of the Costa
del Sol as its coastline is a lot more rugged. There are no massive
beaches but smaller, more personal inlets with some pebbled coves
and intimate bays. Try the Salon beach just beside the Balcon de
Europa in Nerja itself, or Torre del Mar about fifteen minutes
drive west of Nerja.
