Just above Jamaica and below Florida lies the long thing Caribbean Island of Cuba. Typically portrayed as a stereotypical image of a paradise island with it's palm line beaches, that are surrounded by crystalline waters and a heady mixture of exotic smells, tastes and sounds, Cuba is one of the most perfect destinations for holidays. Cuba is very proud of it's history and traditions with cigars and rum cocktails on offer almost everywhere with more modern influences of baseball and of course symbols of the revolution in 1959.

Holidays in Cuba are perfect for those that wish to visit a scenically stunning destination on their holidays, yet still wish to take in some of the richest culture in the world. Tourism has not always been a large industry in Cuba because of certain sanctions from the US however in recent years it has become a much sought after destination for dream holidays. Because of the investment in tourism by the Castro government, Cuba is now a modern and comfortable as any other destination, so that those on their holidays can stay in comfort and style when they visit Cuba. The most popular place to visit is the traditional city of Havana, in the North. Here there is extravagant Hispanic nightlife to enjoy in may cocktail and salsa bars. Whereas for those looking for a more traditional rural experience Vinales Valley, just over a hundred miles away makes for the most beautiful scenery in all of Cuba.

Getting to Cuba

Flights are frequent from many UK airports and with many airlines, including Virgin Atlantic. Flight times are generally around ten hours, which is a long flight but visitors are rewarded by such a rich culture. There are plenty of airports around Cuba which you can fly into and these will vary between carriers.

Discovered in 1492, Cuba is a relatively new country but this often surprises those visiting on their holidays when they find just how much it has to offer. The people of Cuba are an extremely diverse and proud race that are friendly and welcoming to visitors. Their bars and nightclubs offer a completely alternative option to traditional nights out on your holidays. The sounds of the Salsa throughout the night are guaranteed to have you up swaying your hips! Cuba has in the past been a turbulent place with political issues curbing the enjoyment of it's natural terrain and visitors taking holidays here. However the country is moving out of this period with positive steps towards stability. In all this is a wonderful place to make magical once in a lifetime holidays.
