The vibrant history and culture of Marrakech
The culmination of many different tribes has made Marrakech into what it is today, the ancient metropolis is made up of people from the Berber Atlas tribes, Mahgrebis from the plains, and Saharan nomads, creating a diverse and wonderful holiday destination. Marrakech was founded in 1062 by Youssef bin Tachfine, and his son perfected the city by building palaces, baths, mosques and a subterranean water system. The country is so famous for it's arts and local crafts, by which many people earn a living.
