Introducing Portugal
Occupying the other half of the Iberian Peninsula along with Spain and is surrounded by the Atlantic to it's west and south. In recent years this island has becomes a favoured and sought after destination for holidays by all types of people. Travelling to Portugal
Portugal is extremely well connected with the UK because it has been a hotspot for holidays for such a long time. Sometimes it may take a slightly longer journey if you are planning holidays in the more remote islands of The Azores, but most visitors find it a small price to pay for their unrivalled peace and ambience. There are six airports in Portugal which are evenly spread throughout the country and offer extremely good connections with the UK, to many of which the flights usually don't exceed 4-5 hours, which is a wonderfully short flight for such exotic holidays.
An intricate and developed history
Once a very strong colonial power until the middle of the 20th century, creating plenty of foreign influences, particularly towards the coast. Those on their holidays will often recognise the air of mystery and orient that seems to linger over a few of the more traditional, coastal resorts.
