Getting to Ljubljana
Short-haul flights from numerous airports in the UK fly directly to Ljubljana with a variety of low-cost airlines such as Easyjet. No connection is needed for the two hour flight as it is only 750 miles (1200 km), an easy trip for the average commercial jet.
The History of Ljubljana
Ljubljana prides itself on the many cultural events held within it's limits. Many thousands of these grace the city's calendar every year, including the Summer Festival, Jazz Festival and the Druga Godba Festival of Alternative Music. Musical practices have become the lifeblood of the city, which has one of the oldest established Philharmonic orchestras in the world, not to mention some accomplished street musicians. It is not all classical culture, the large student population see to that. Ljubljana knows how to rock, and you are just as likely to hear the throbbing beat of club music emanating from buildings after nightfall, as you are the strains of violins.
