History and Culture of Hammamet
In the early 20th century Hammamet was a little known sleepy fishing village, populated by Tunisians, but when wealthy businessmen from America and Europe decided to make the beautiful bay their playground. this was when the resort began to grow and realise it's tourist potential. Today it is a popular multicultural resort including many from Sweden, Germany and France speaking a myriad of languages.
